FKCS Charity Race
June 25, 2008 |FKCS Board
Dear FKCS Members & Families

FKCS is proud to announce the organization selected to benefit from our 2008 Charity race will be the Victory Junction Gang Camp, founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty.

The benefit event is currently scheduled to coincide with our 2008 Season Awards Banquet both of which are scheduled for October 4 and 5 at Ocala Gran Prix, located in Ocala. We have combined the 2 events in the interest of containing costs. With a VERY GENEROUS offer by Jorge / OGP to donate the use of the track and concession karts, we are planning an event that will rival anything in years past. Our goal will be to generate a substantial donation for VJGC through the efforts of FKCS members, sponsors, the karting community and general public / spectators. We have many ideas but cannot do this alone. Therefore we are forming a Charity Race Committee whose responsibility will be the planning, organizing and execution of the event. We are interested in the especially those members that have experience in promoting / marketing, advertising, event management, communications, and administrative functions….of course anyone that wants to get involved….we can always find something for you to do as October will be upon us before we know it. We would also like to hear from anyone that could volunteer time during the event or donate goods / services (e.g. tents, tables, pavilion, displays, signs, banners, flags, etc.).

Todd Kovi will be acting as Committee Chairman for the event so if you are interested in participating please contact him as soon as possible. Our goal is to identify a committee before the last race in July. If you cannot participate in the Charity Race Committee but have suggestions for the event, please forward those to toddfkcs@comcast.net or any of the other board members on the contact page.

Victory Junction Gang Camp – Mission Statement:
The Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically sound environment.

You can find out more about the VJGC on the web at www.victoryjunction.org

Ocala Race 4 Review
June 12, 2008 |John Devine
Dear FKCS Members & Families

First of all I would like to THANK YOU all for coming out to the last race in Ocala. It was the best turn out of the whole year so far. The kart count was the largest this season so far. With the starting at noon and then racing into the night it was different, but the feedback that I got from you all was great. I know that the rain delay on Sunday was frustrating, but with the good workers at OGP they got the track dried out and we finished in great time. I hope that all had a good time and look forward to seeing you all again at the next race.

The point’s battles are getting tight so it should make for some great racing!

Remember in order to finish first you must first finish.

JUNE RACE #4 - VENUE CHANGE to OCALA GRAN PRIX
May 23, 2008 | FKCS Board
Dear FKCS Members & Families

Race #4 has been moved to OCALA GRAN PRIX.

This was totally beyond the Board's control and many options were deliberated before making this venue change. The Board would like to thank Jorge Arellano of Ocala Gran Prix, our Series Sponsor, for stepping up once again to help provide a workable solution.

In an effort to make our visit to OGP interesting, the track will be raced in a clockwise direction (instead of the normal counter-clockwise). This will indeed make for some interesting racing as this is the first time that FKCS participants will race the OGP track in this configuration.

The Board urges you to pass on this information and pay attention to the following revised schedule for this June race weekend only.

As part of our compromise there is a time change for the Saturday only. PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY: Gates open at 9.00am on Saturday BUT practice starts at 1.15pm, with Drivers Meeting held before practice.

Friday June 6th (REGULAR SCHEDULE)
8:00am Gates Open
9:00am - 5:00 pm. Practice by groups

Saturday June 7th (NEW SCHEDULE)
9:00am Gates Open
11.30am Registration Open
12.30pm Driver?s Meeting (Roll Call)
1.00pm Engine Break-in
1.15pm Practice by Groups 15min ea
1.30pm Registration Closes
3.30pm Racing Begins

Sunday June 8th (REGULAR SCHEDULE)

The Board apologizes for any inconvenience that this venue and time change may cause any of our members.

FKCS Moms need some pampering too!
May 15, 2008 | FKCS Board
Dear FKCS Members & Families

With all the pampering the mothers of the FKCS families recieved last weekend, it's never enough. So our good member Kathy Filgueiras with the help of "The Body Shop at Home" has decided that let's celebrate Mother's day all over again at Moroso Race #4.

So Kathy is inviting all FKCS moms over to her motor home on Friday evening June 6 at 6:00pm for some wine and appetizers and some pampering (courtesy of The Body Shop at Home). Since the moms do so much for the racers, it's time that the moms get a little pampering too, says Kathy.

Thanks Kathy for stepping up and helping add a little more fun to our Series.

FKCS TAG HEAVY/MASTER CLASS UPDATE
March 30, 2008 | FKCS Board
Dear FKCS Members & Families

After careful consideration and input from TaG Heavy and TaG drivers at the Jacksonville race, FKCS announces the following changes for TaG Heavy:

- TaG Drivers age 35 or older as of 3/21/08 are eligible for the TaG Heavy class. Total package weight (kart, driver, gear) must meet the minimum weight as defined by the WKA TaG rules plus 30 pounds.
- Drivers over 200lbs with driving gear (suit, helmet, etc) and 16 years of age or older are still eligible for the class. Total package weight (kart, driver, gear) must meet the minimum weight as defined by WKA TaG rules plus 30 pounds.

Other considerations:

Since we have already started the series we need to account for any drivers over 35 that raced TAG in Jacksonville and want to transfer to the Heavy/Masters class. The following applies:

- Drivers, 35 years and older as of 3/12/08 (herein referred to as a ‘qualified driver’), that raced in TaG at Jacksonville, that wish to move into the Heavy/Masters class starting with the Homestead race, can transfer their points from TaG. If a driver elects to transfer points to TaG Heavy/Masters the decision cannot be rescinded. Transferred points count toward the overall FKCS championship for the Heavy/Masters class.
- Qualified drivers electing NOT to transfer points from TaG but still racing Heavy/Masters class starting with the Homestead race will have to complete all remaining races to be eligible for the FKCS championship in the Heavy/Masters class (participating in 4 of 5 race rule applies).
- Qualified drivers that transfer points to Heavy/Master from the Jacksonville race AND complete the remaining 4 races in Heavy/Masters class will receive the 50 bonus points for competing at all 5 events.
- Qualified drivers that elect Homestead as a drop (via non-participation) AND raced TaG in Jacksonville may transfer their points for the 3rd race scheduled at Monticello.
- Qualified drivers MUST state their desire to transfer points prior to the start of qualifying at the next race for which they intend to do so. An authorization form will be provided at registration during the Homestead and Monticello races for qualified drivers requesting points transfer.
- Drivers may continue to race TaG and, if eligible, can race in the Heavy/Masters class as well.

Please direct questions to Todd Kovi, Senior 2-cycle Director. toddfkcs@comcast.net

Class Order and Day Selection
March 17, 2008 | FKCS Board
Dear FKCS Members & Families

The Board of the FKCS is very happy to announce the nomination of TODD KOVI to replace Jay McKeage as Senior Two Cycle Director. Todd has been racing with the FKCS for over a year and has been known to be a very friendly and approachable person. Todd enjoys the racing with his son, Dezso, and typifies the membership of the FKCS. Todd has decided to volunteer his time in the interest of helping his beloved sport and the Board welcomes him.

Todd admits that he has a huge "shoe" to fill in that of Jay McKeage, but is not afraid of a new challenge. Jay has asked to step down, since his son, John, has decided to take some time off from karting. We hope to see John in a kart soon and we know we will see Jay around the track since he has admitted that he cannot stay away. The Board wishes to thank Jay for all his dedication and hard work during his tenure as Snr. 2 Cycle Director.

ANNUAL CHARITY RACE UPDATE
October 12, 2007 | Rudy Ramsaroop

Dear FKCS Members & Families

In an effort to make our Charity race even more popular which will give us some great publicity, media attention, advertising and last but not least more money to donate to our charity. The Board of the F.K.C.S has had commitments from famous Racecar Drivers and sponsors that have shown serious interest in our Charity Race. However, we have encountered some administration delays with contracts, etc. which gave us an unavoidable late start in executing this event. Our proposed recipient for the charity race is Shands Children's Hospital. There is much paperwork involved when donating to this well deserved organization but proper protocol must be followed before we can proceed.

With careful review of the fixed costs involved in having our Charity race and that the only available event date is very close to the holiday season. In the best interest of our Charity and with consideration also to the level of fun that our racers have come to expect; the F.K.C.S Board has decided to postpone our Charity race for 2008. We believe that this decision will result in something far greater and will out weigh the inconvenience of a schedule change.

The Board of Directors has also decided on pursuing some different strategies to generate money for the Charity of our choice. One proposal is to make the Charity race as a combination with one of our regular State races, effectively reducing our costs of putting on a separate event. Hereby, we can include our Team Endurance race as part of our regular race weekend activities. Another fund raiser will be a raffle that will run throughout the 2008 Series with a drawing at the End of Year Banquet. The Grand prize for this raffle will be a brand new Easykart. The Board Members have proposed these and some other ideas that can be implemented throughout the FIVE race 2008 series that will generate money while not incurring any addition expenses creating a win-win situation that will indeed realize a larger donation to our Charity.

Finally, your board is working with full effort on our 2008 schedule and it will be posted as soon as it is finalized. As a yearly reminder, the board must schedule our F.K.C.S schedule around the Manufacturer's Cup, Gold Cup, Florida Winter Tour and Stars. This does not make it an easy task. We have received all other schedules except one. We ask that you please stay tuned and be patient as the schedule will be posted as soon as possible.

NEW PRESIDENT LETTER TO MEMBERSHIP
August 13, 2007 | Rudy Ramsaroop

Dear FKCS Members & Families

Hello all and thanks to all that supported my election as your new President.

Firstly (and again) thanks to Alex Oppliger for the time and effort that he gave to the FKCS over the past year. Alex and the 2007 Board were able to put together a great series with a lot of new membership. To top it all off was a spectacular banquet that people are still talking about and will continue to for quite some time. The Board promised a fun event with lots of food and prizes and delivered far more. Kudos to all involved in the planning and execution of the “Best Banquet” ever, as I was told by many. What about those “Eagles”? Spectacular!!! Arrangements are already being made to confirm the same location, The NASCAR Grille, for 2008 with even more space and seating. You don’t want to miss next year!!!

The Board will like to thank our 2007 sponsors for their commitment in making this year a great one for the Racers and families of the FKCS. Another successful year of racing is now in the record books and your 2008 Board is already planning the Charity race and the 2008 schedule. Very many thanks to all of the members of the FKCS and their families for the support and dedication to our series. Many thanks to all the Racers who always put on a great show. Thanks to all the volunteers for their unselfish contributions.

Continuing with a great idea, plans are already being finalized to return to Ocala Grand Prix for our Second Annual Charity race. Your suggestions are invited for consideration as to a suitable Charity to be selected by the Board. This is going to be a fun event and remember all profits go to charity. From the looks of things it’s going to be even bigger than last year. The NEW Board has a few ideas that will guarantee a bigger fun factor. Look for a date and event flyer to follow soon.

As for sponsorship for 2008, I would like to encourage anyone to feel free to contact me if they are interested in sponsorship or has knowledge of any organization that will be interested in being involved with the FKCS.

Looking forward to continued growth and success of the FKCS in 2008.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
July 9, 2007 | Board of Directors

Dear FKCS Members & Families

Race #5 in Ocala was another safe & outstanding weekend of racing and another record turnout! Thank you all for being there! We appreciate the continued support of our great series, the sport and for being a sportsman.

Banquet Please keep in mind the deadline for the banquet registration is July 12th. We have to pre order our food with the Nascar Grill in Orlando. Please fill out the form which is posted under "banquet" and mail it in a.s.a.p. There will be awesome season trophies for our top 5 finishers / racers, honorable achievements, such as; "Family of the year, Sportsman of the Year, Mentor of the Year, etc." and hundreds of prizes, gifts and DVD's of our whole 2007 series, etc. All drivers of our series which raced 4 out of 5 races get a free entry !

Election Our election committee tallied and finalized all ballots for our 2008 President and Vice President position:
2008 F.K.C.S. President: Rudy Ramsaroop won 43 over 12
2008 F.K.C.S Vice President: John Devine won 44 over 9
Congratulations to both of you! The board also appreciates the efforts of the other nominees for their unselfish willingness to volunteer on our F.K.C.S. Inc. board.

General The final points will be posted as soon as they are finalized. Please keep checking our web site. This will take a few days. Our 2007 series has come to a successful end. The next event will be our annual State Charity Race in late summer / fall which the board will start to plan after our annual banquet. Since the 2007 series is over and due to the increased abuse of our forum with postings of non family oriented posts and web sites that are deemed unacceptable, the board had no other choice then to freeze the forum temporarily in order to find better and safer solutions to this increasing problem. The new board will have a meeting after the banquet and will evaluate options at that time. We all look forward to seeing you all in Orlando at our banquet July 28th!

IMPORTANT UPDATE
June 18, 2007 | Board of Directors

Dear FKCS Members & Families

Only a few weeks left to our final race and election weekend in Ocala. It is always a difficult decision to decide which of the good nominees is the best for the right position and in the best interest of the series. All nominees which are willing to donate a year as a volunteer for a good cause deserve the highest recognition and appreciation regardless of the election outcome. F.K.C.S Inc. is not a one man show, the success is based on the dedication, harmony and synergy between the board members. They all need to work together hand in hand, handle many difficult tasks unselfishly in the best interest of our F.K.C.S. members while following WKA rules of our sanctioned body. Now is the time to vote and be part of changes and in charge of the series future. Changes are good and many times needed to make a good thing even better.

All positions have been won by acclamation except Vice President and President. The other nominated candidates showed us an incredible loyalty in the best interest of the series and yield to the opposing candidates and wish them all good luck. Now, this is sportsmanship and unselfish dedication. The board tried hard to fill important positions with existing members and directors. It is smarter and more efficient and productive to move an experienced director / member up in a higher position which knows the structure of the series then to implement somebody new and unfamiliar with all the logistics. Fortunately it worked out in most positions (see list below). Why make too many changes to a series which is better, stronger and bigger then ever ? Only a board member really knows of what and how much is involved in these positions, which is much more than most people assume.

The 2008 nominees for election are:
Vice President: John Devine & Jim Rogero
President: Rudy Ramsaroop & Don Jolly

After careful deliberation and consideration the "board of directors" recommends / endorses the following nominees in the best interest of the series:

John Devine for Vice President. John Devine is a great asset in our F.K.C.S series for many years. Has shown unselfish dedication, knowledge and professionalism. He is familiar with all details of F.K.C.S Inc. and has done an outstanding job and achievement as 2 Cycle Jr. Director. Many consider him the saviour of the Kid Kart class. John Devine is a team player which any board can be proud of to have. His outstanding active support to our series in the past years speaks for itself.

Rudy Ramsaroop for President. Rudy has been involved FULL time in karting for many years and is President of RYSA Racing and Miami GP Raceway in Miami. As a full time kart shop owner and a go-kart track owner he has an existing infrastructure of full time employees who are dedicated on a daily basis to karting. The FKCS board has worked with Rudy Ramsaroop over the past years and it was all smooth, professional and the most pleasant experience. Rudy is very dependable and reliable and has always fulfilled whatever task he committed his resources to. Through his kart shop RYSA Racing, he has been an active supporter and sponsor of our series since the year 2000. Mr. Ramsaroop is also CEO of EasyKart America with full endorsement of Mr. Pablo Montoya. Mr. Montoya believes as much in Rudy's skills, honesty and knowledge that he gave him full authority to manage all the day to day business operations of Easykart America. Rudy was very instrumental in rejuvenating the FKCS' relationship with Easykart for the 2007 series. The synergy between EasyKart, F.K.C.S and RYSA Racing gives our series an incredible potential for expansion and a bright future.

We would also like to include the other candidates credentials:

Don Jolly is in involved in karting for many years. Together with his father and mother he ran the all time famous and missed Naples track. After Naples got shut down he opened the Immokalee track which he runs currently together with his daughter and others. Mr. Jolly is also actively involved in Drag Racing and a supporter of both of his daughters racing. He is also on the board of other organizations such as the Fairground board. He is a former WKA trustee and the owner of Jolly Trucking.

Jim Rogero has been involved in karting for many years. Is an active local club racer and has many outstanding achievements of the past on a National level. Mr. Rogero is the owner of Advanced Automotive. Jim also deserves a lot of credit for rebuilding the old Naples track and is actively involved in the Immokallee tracks race operations.

2008 Elected Board Of Directors by acclamation:
* Series Director: Victor Evans Jr. (former race director), newly elected / acclamation
Treasurer: Duane Bryan, re-elected / acclamation
Secretary: Charlene Devine, re-elected / acclamation
2 Cycle Sr. Director: Jay Mc Keage, re-elected / acclamation
2 Cycle Jr. Director: John Devine, re-elected / acclamation
4 Cycle Jr. & Sr. Director: Victor Evans III, re-elected / acclamation

Other changes / promotions:
* Mr. Victor Evans Jr. accepted his promotion and nomination as Series Director. Mr. Evan has done such an outstanding job as Race Director in the past that he is our best choice for series director. He won by acclimation. Congratulations and welcome on the board !
* Mr. Billy Newberg our existing Head Flagman gladly accepted his 2008 promotion as Race Director and will replace M. Victor Evans Jr. Billy has been involved in racing for many years. There is no one in our series which has his eyes more on the track than him, he has seen it all. Billy knows the structure, all officers, racers and workers. He will make a great experienced, dedicated and neutral race director.
* Mr. Glen Biggs will replace Billy Newberg as our new 2008 Head Flagman. Glen Biggs helped our series in many tasks wherever help was needed. He proved himself in many positions with his unselfish, happy, helpful and positive attitude. We gladly announce that Mr. Biggs accepted his new position as Head Flagman. All our best to all of you !

General:
Please keep this election clean and refrain from negativity on our forum against any nominee, let the best man win. Please do not abuse the forum for political campaigning or negativity or post will be canceled by administration, this is a family oriented web site. There was plenty of time for campaigning during our events and there will be more time in Ocala. If we have a clean and legal election in Ocala we will announce the elected nominees. The existing President & Vice President informed the board and have decided to sign over the duties to the newly elected Pres. & VP at our 2007 banquet in Orlando July 28th. in order to give the new administration enough time to prepare for the 2008 series with scheduling, sponsors, charity race, etc. As it was done by the previous administration which worked out very well.

Their commitment to continuing with the philosophy established will continue to be the backbone of our series success. We promised to increase the turn outs, sponsorships and finances. Mission accomplished as we exceeded our expectations. Our series is better, bigger and stronger then ever! The efforts and hard labor of our volunteers paid off and is greatly appreciated. It is time for fresh blood and newly motivated people to continue in the success as well as to offer exciting, new and fresh ideas. I really appreciate all the emails and calls to convince me to stay but other ventures and chapters in my life are beckoning me in other directions. URGENT NEWS ABOUT STARKE RACE
May 11, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

After a few days of deliberation, the board has decided to cancel the Starke race due to the destruction and fire damage of the facility. There will be no make up race but we will still run 5 races and 1 drop. The options just did not allow us to have an acceptable alternative. Running Monticello or Jacksonville as replacement would be very unfair to our southern racers which already drive 6-8 hrs North for most of the races during our race series. Running twice Homestead in two weeks would force many racers (especially from the North) to drop one of the two back to back events. We need 150 racers to break even and running twice in two weeks at the same place would create a big deficit and cause logistical problems. the track owners can not afford an event with only half the entries. Rescheduling it to our rain date (July 13-15) would push the problem just ahead of us and may make it worse. In the first two races out of three, we ran in the rain. We have a greater chance that we will encounter rain in June & July and giving up that date will allow us no alternative. As we all know, we are experiencing since moths a record dry period with no rain in sight for the next 7 days. Once it rains (and it will) we will deal with a lot of flooding and may have to cancel a race due to flooding or hazardous conditions, since the sod became unable to absorb the water. Using up the rain date already half way in to the season is not a smart solution.

Scheduling a new race date was out of question since we have to avoid any conflicts with Manufact. Cup, Gold Cup, Stars, etc. To give you an idea: June 15-17 Manufact. Cup Wisconsin, June 28 - July 1 Gold Cup, July 6-8 FKCS Ocala, July 13-15 FKCS Ocala alternate race / rain date, July 19-23. Manufact Cup in Pensylvania, July 28. FKCS banquet in Orlando, August 2-5 Stars in Wisconsin, etc. We have many members which run as well in the Manufact Cup, Gold Cup, Stars or ALL together. They are already more or less nonstop on the road for 2 months. Extending the series in to August would mess up most members family and vacation plans as well as would make us lose our banquet money that we have already invested. It also would push the series in to the new school year. I guess we all get the picture. There was and is no solution to please everyone. The board had to choose a solution which causes the least interference and problems. The only smart solution is to cancel Starke with no make up race. We still run 5 races total with one drop. Any pre registrations that have been paid for Starke will be fully applied towards Ocala. If a member decides not to run in Ocala, we will gladly issue a full refund. Sorry guys, but some things such as Hurricanes, Fire, Lighting, Flooding, etc. are out of our earthly power / control! We need to make the best out of an unfortunate situation and feel that it must be made in the interest of the majority.

URGENT NEWS ABOUT STARKE
May 9, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

It just came to our attention that last night a devastating brush fire destroyed 70% of the Starke Track. Fortunately no one was hurt, but unfortunately the facility sustained substantial damages. This is a horrible set of circumstances for the Wigham family and all their hard work they put in for their wonderful track . We extend our hopes and prayers for the Wigham family and wish them a speedy recovery.

Our F.K.C.S board called in an emergency meeting and we will discuss solutions for this unfortunate "Act of nature". We will keep you posted and check back frequently for updates.

RACE 4 & RACE 5 UPDATE
April 11, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

What a great track and turnout for Monticello. We were lucky that we were able to run the full course of 1.1 miles which ended up to be over 20 miles of racing distance for each class. Everything ran smooth and we even blessed with our first "no rain" race weekend. Congratulations to all winners ! The points will be posted as soon as we have finished calculating them. This is a lot of work and can take up to 2 weeks. Photos will be posted in the same time frame. We are very impressed by the progress of our kid kart racers (and parents)! You have all shown great progress and have proven that by Sunday you were ready and deserve to run the full track. Keep up the great work!

Pre Registration:
The pre-registration for Homestead (race #4) & Starke (race #5) have been posted, the deadline for BOTH is postmarked by May 12, 2007 ! Please keep in mind that most officers leave on Wednesday for the races and this gives us ONLY 6 working days between Homestead and Starke. In order to provide our racers the same incentive we listed Homestead and Starke's pre-registration at the same time with the same deadline.

EasyKart Racers:
I posted all gears (rear sprocket) for all Florida F.K.C.S. tracks in the forum. Please be sure to read!

Kid Karts in Homestead:
As announced Homestead and Starke will be a BIG weekend for our kid kart racers. Our class sponsor Cal. RACE 3 INFORMATION
March 8, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

Race #3 in Monticello April 6-8. 2007 will be held on Easter Weekend. We try to avoid Holidays and any conflicts with other major series in our schedule but; as we all know, there are more events then weekends in a year. To schedule around the Manufact. Cup, Gold Cup, Stars, Winter Series, all Holidays and the individual track schedules is physically impossible. We have managed to avoid scheduling conflicts with any series races and Holidays,well... except one ... Easter. There was no other smart option.

The good news is Kids are off from school and most parents do not have to take additional days off from work. This would be a great time to bring relatives to the track and introduce them to our great sport.

In order to race and keep traditions, Pastor Todd Shaw of On Track Ministries will perform an wonderful and extended Easter Service on Sunday Morning. Pastor Todd Shaw will also gladly give communion. In addition, the local St. Margaret's Catholic Church, which is only 10-15 min. from the track invite our Members & Families to be part of the official Easter ceremony on Sunday morning. You will still have enough time to be back at the track before the racing starts. St. Margaret's Catholic Church, East US 90, Monticello, Fl. 32344 Ph. 850-997-3622

We will also arrange an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday evening for the kids and adults.

RACE 1 POINTS
February 11, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

I hope you all had a great weekend. The Race #1 points from Moroso are posted. Looks like this season will be a great race for the State Championship.

Let me remind all of you temporary members, as long as it is still time to become a master member:

As of our 2007 WKA rules, Page 84, Paragraph 807.2: A temporary member is able to receive race rewards, but receives NO divisional points. So please, if you want divisional / season points, then please make sure you are a WKA & FKCS Master member on Race #2. We went ahead and gave everyone points for Race #1, but you need to know that if you remain a temporary member, then you will loose your points. EVERYONE MUST present WKA membership cards at race #2. There are several people that do not have membership numbers, and they did not do a temporary or apply for WKA membership. No more exceptions, there is plenty of time till race #2, follow up with WKA and get your membership ready. You can also sign up for your membership at the track when you register for the race, but there will be no exceptions anymore. It is YOUR responsibility to bring your WKA card to the races, or to sign up for WKA membership at the track.

FKCS PHONE NUMBER AND MORE HELP
February 8, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

Get ready for Jacksonville, it will go in to History for Karting in Florida, we will get entries from Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, even some teams from Arizona. Our series is already growing. With growth comes more work and more logistics which have to be handled on and off the track. It takes us weeks prior to the race to plan events on this scale. This is a "good" problem, but the board needed a solution to handle it. All our officers from President to Secretary and workers are already maxed out, so we decided to elect a series director to handle the growth of our series. As of our board meeting 02/06/2007 we elected Mrs. Florie Gage as Series Director. Florie has a great experience in logistics and planing. Mrs. Kathy Filgueiras with equal experience in logistics and planning will be Assistant Series Director. Both will be a great asset and help for the board. Welcome on (the) board !

Last but not least: F.K.C.S Inc. has officially as of today its own phone number, which is 239-641-0024, so PLEASE ONLY use this number ! If you need to contact one of our officers then please email the appropriate officer in charge of your question (see web page for emails).

Thats it with good news for today.

Look forward to see you all in Jacksonville.

Moroso Practice
January 29, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

I just negotiated a great deal with Moroso Motorsports Park for practice days and times.

Thursday 02/01/07 Practice: 9 am - 4 pm
Friday 02/02/07 Practice: 9 am - 10 pm. Thats 13 hours of practice!

This should give everybody enough practice time, including the late arrivals. Please keep in mind that the practice time on Saturday and Sunday will be just a short practice in order to give all classes enough race time.

See ya all in Moroso !

Race 1 Update
January 27, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

It came to our attention that there are some spec. tire confusions / rumors floating around for Race #1 in Moroso. Spec. Tire rules are a big step towards cost effectiveness and a fair and level competition for the racers.

Let me clarify for once more and for all for the whole FKCS series:

1. We run ALL spec. tires for WKA classes as of 2007 WKA Manual (see manual for your specific class).
2. We run ALL spec. tires for Easy Kart classes as of 2007 Easy Kart rules (MG White).
3. We run ALL spec. tires for Rotax classes as of 2007 US Rotax rules / primer (Mojo D1 dry, Bridgestone YJP wet).

Look forward to see you all in Moroso. Only 5 days left !

Race 1 Update
January 24, 2007 | Alexander S. Oppliger

Dear FKCS Members & Families

Based on all the emails, phone calls and pre registrations that I am receiving, I assume that Moroso will be a record turnout. We are very excited for Race #1. Due to the expected turnout and in order to provide enough seat time, we have made some minor changes. First we will be sorting classes in to practice groups. Please download the NEW event flyer for Moroso (see below). Familiarize your self with the number next to your class. This is the group number for your practice session. Please be fair and do not "sneak" in to other classes. We all (officials & racers) have to be prepared and be as efficient as possible to make this race a great success, so please come prepared to the races.

It is my goal to answer all questions, calls and emails I get from our members and not to ignore any concerns. Lately, I am getting countless (30+) emails and calls each day in which 90% of those questions are answered in the WKA manual. In order to do my job 100% and to provide a safe, fast and most fun environment, I need to focus on the most important and productive elements of the operation. Please help me out, here is my plea:

1. READ & UNDERSTAND the WKA Manual, specs and rules. This is in your own interest, on and off the track and helps all of us to make this the most prestigious, safe, fun and smooth series. This will also give you some advantage in the Nationals.

2. Familiarize yourself with our web page, download event flyers and read or post your question in the forum.

3. If you do not find your question answered, then please approach the Director in charge of your class. We have a 2 Cycle Junior Director, 2 Cycle Senior Director, 4 Cycle Director, Treasurer, Secretary, Webmaster, Vice President and President. You can find all the contacts on our web page under "Board of Directors".

4. If your question is in regards of your WKA membership, please contact the WKA Headquarters in NC 704-455-1606 or consult WKA's web page: www.worldkarting.com (You can also apply or renew your WKA membership at our registration @ the track)

5. If you still have questions, feel free to contact me anytime and I will be glad to help you out.

Look forward to see you all in Moroso !
